  • New details of the Xiaomi Mi 11T have leaked.
  • The phone may sport a MediaTek chipset, 64MP triple rear camera, and a 120Hz display.
  • It’ll reportedly share key specs with the Chinese-exclusive Redmi K40 Ultra.

New details of the rumored Xiaomi Mi 11T and the Redmi K40 Ultra have leaked, shedding light on the phones’ displays, cameras, and chipsets.

Per the XiaomiUI Telegram group, the Mi 11T is identified by its code-name Amber and model number K11R. It’s set to sport a 120Hz 20:9 display, which would be a slight step down over the 144Hz screen on the Xiaomi Mi 10T series. Xiaomi could be switching out the Mi 10T’s LCD for an OLED panel, though.

The Mi 11T may pack a 64MP OmniVision-made sensor in its primary shooter. It may be supported by an 8MP Sony IMX355 wide-angle camera and a “telemacro” shooter with 3x zoom.

Internally, we’re looking at an unnamed MediaTek chipset. Considering that the Mi 10T used the Snapdragon 865 SoC, we wouldn’t be surprised if the Mi 11T also goes with flagship MediaTek hardware, namely the Dimensity 1200.

Redmi K40 Ultra: China’s Mi 11T?

The leak suggests that the Mi 11T will land in China too under the Redmi K40 Ultra banner. Code-named Agate with model number K11T, this phone may share display specs with the Mi 11T. However, it will reportedly see a notable camera buff. Instead of the 64MP sensor, the K40 Ultra may use a 108MP HM2 sensor in its headlining camera. The K40 Ultra will reportedly share the Mi 11T’s wide-angle and telemacro shooters, too.

As for the chipset, the current Redmi K40 series devices all sport Snapdragon 888 SoCs. However, this leak suggests that the K40 Ultra will opt for MediaTek hardware instead. Notably, rumors of a MediaTek-powered Redmi phone have been circling since January.

It’s worth mentioning that XiaomiUI doesn’t have a completely spotless record when it comes to tips. It did get the Redmi Note 8 2021 details spot on and lended reliable context to the Mi Pad 5 before launch. However, we do suggest taking these Mi 11T and K40 Ultra specs with a pinch of salt.

It’s unclear when the Xiaomi Mi 11T or Redmi K40 Ultra will debut. But considering the Mi 10T was outed in October 2020, we could be just a few months away.
